|Info=Place, in Fowey; descended from Thomas Treffry, of Treffry, great-great-grandson of Roger de Treffry, of Treffry, who m. the heiress of Boniface, of Place. The senior line of this ancient house expired with John Treffry, Esq., of Place, in 1658; his sister m. Trefusis; a younger branch settled at Rooke, in the parish of St. Kew, became extinct at the decease of John Treffry, Esq., son of Thomas Treffry, cousin and heir of John Treffry, Esq., of Place, who left his estates to his sister's son, William Toller, Esq., of Fowey, who assumed the surname of Treffry, and left a son and heir. Thomas Treffry, Esq., of Place, who left two daus, his co-heirs, of whom the elder, Susannah Anne, m. Joseph Austen, Esq., and was mother of an only son, Joseph Thomas Austen, Esq., of Place, High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1838, who assumed, by sign manual, 14 Feb. 1838, the surname of Treffry&lt;br /&gt;
