Devon, son of Richard Forsman, of the parish of Lamerton, by Johanna, his wife, dau. of Robert Rows, of same parish, and grandson of Thomas Forsman, also of Lamerton, where his ancestors lived in good reputation for several ages. The grant was to Rev. John Forsman and his descendants, with liberty to place the arms on the tomb of his wife, Martha, dau. of Jasper Radcliff, of St. Thomas, near Exeter, and his dau., Martha Forsman, both deceased, and with a proviso that if the beirs male of the body of the grantee should fail, the arms aud crest might be borne by Thomas Wyat, son of Thomas Wyat, of Tavistock, by Agnes, his wife, dau. and heir of Richard Forsman, elder brother of the grantee's father, also named Richard Forsman
