Henry II., who gave the church of Sutton to the Canons of Radford, in that co.; his representative temp. Edward II., Sir John de Sutton, m. Margaret, eldest sister and co-heir of John be Somerie, Lord Dudley, and had a son and heir, John de Sutton, summoned to Parliament 1342; Sir Ferdinando Sutton, only son of Edward, ninth Baron Dudley, d.v.p., leaving an only dau. and heir, Frances Sutton, s. her grandfather, 1643. as Baroness Dudley, m.
