Of this family was Geoeob Fleetwood, colonel in the Parliament's service, one of King Charles's judges, and a Lord of Oliver Cromwell's other house; the celebrated General Fleetwood, Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland under the Protectorate; and George Flbbtwood, pre-eminently distinguished in the service of Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden, by whom he was created a baron of that kingdom
