Ketilby, co. Lincoln, and T yrwhitt, co. Northumberland; descended from Sir Hercules de Ttbwhitt, living 1067. The last male heir in the direct line, Francis Tybwhitt, Esq., of Ketilby, d. in IC73, leaving an only dau. and heir, Catherine, wife of Sir Henry Hunloke, Bart., of Wingerworth. The Tybwhitts, of Camerlngnam, co. Lincoln, descended from Marmadcre, fourth son of Sir William Tyrwhitt, of Ketilby, Sheriff co. Lincoln, 28 Henry VIII., were represented by Sir Thomas Tyrwhitt, Lord Warden of the Stannaries, and Gentlcmnn Usher of the Black Hod, who d. 1833. Sir Thomas's uncle. John Tyrwhitt, Esq., of Netherclay House, co. Somerset, Capt. R.N., rf. 1812, leaving three sons: 1. Thomas, who took the name of Jones, and was created a bart. in 1808 ; II. John, some time Marshal to the Admiralty at Gibraltar; and III. Richard, of Nantyr, co. Denbigh, Recorder of Chester
