Wexford ; granted by l'ortescue, Ulster, 1802, to John Loois Gideon Ernest Prebknton Wilmsdobft, Captain of the 1st Regt, of Dutch troops in the service of George III., a naturalised subject of the United Kingdom, upon his assuming, by royal licence, the surname of Richards, in consequence of his marriage with Martha, eldest dau. and co-heiress of Thomas Richards, Esq., of Rathasplck, who was grandson of Thomas Richards, Esq., of Park, by Janb Codd, his wife, dau. and co-heiress of Nicholas Codd, Esq., of Rathaspick and Castletown, co. Wexford, and great-grandson of Thomas Richards, Esq., of Park. The heir male and head of Richards, of Rathaspick and Park now is John Richards, Esq., of Barnagh, J.P. co. Mayo, grandson of John Richahds, Esq., of Dublin, Barrister-at-law, who was brother of the above Thomas Richards, Esq., of ftathas-pick: another brother, Richard Richabds. was grandfather of the late Right Hon. John Richabds, Baron of the Court of Exchequer in Ireland
