Winston, co. Devon; the senior line of the house of Fobtbscue, whose last male representative, Edmund Fortescue, Esq., left five daus. co-heirs, Mary, m. the Bight. Hon. William Fortescue, Master of the Bolls; Elizabeth, d. unm., 1768; Sabab, d. young, 1703; Dorothea, m. Thomas Buit, Esq., son of Sir Thomas Bust, Knt., of Exeter; and Gbace, d. unm., 1743. Of these daus. the only one to leave issue was Dobothba, wife of Thomas Bobt, Esq.; her dau. and heir, Cathbbine Bdbt, m. Rev. Nathaniel Wells, Rector of East Allington, co. Devon, and had, with other issue, a son Edmund, who assumed the surname and arms of Fortescue
