Pyttney, co. Somerset, Trumpington, co. Cambridge, Ogwell, co. Devon; descended from Sir Richard Reynell, Knt., of Pyttney, Sheriff co. Devon from 1191 to 1194; his great-grandson, Walter Reynell, Esq., of Pyttney, acquired, temp. Edward I., the Trumpington estates, in marriage with Maud, dau. and heir of Everard de Trumpington, and was great-grandfather of another Sir Walten Reynell, who m. Margaret, eldest dau. and heir of William Strighull, of Malston, and was ancestor of the various branches of this distinguished family. The senior line, Reynell, of Ogwell, expired with Richard Reynell, Esq.. of West Ogwell, M.P. for Ashburton in 1735, who left his estates to his niece {the dau. of his sistrer Mary}, Rebecca Whitrow, wife of Joseph Taylor, Esq., of Denbury, when the male representation of the family vested in Sir Thomas Reynell, third bart. of Laleham, co. Middlesex
