Wentwubth-Sheilds: confirmed, 1876, to John Gons Sheilds and Francis Weub Sheilds, sons of ltev. Wentwobth Sheilds, Rector of Newtown, co. Mcath, who was eldest surviving son of John Sheilds, Esq., of Wyanstown, co. Meath, by Sarah Wentwobth, his wife, dau. and co-heir of Robert Wentwobth, Esq., of Fyunstown, same co., the eldest son of George Wentworth, Esq., of Fyans-town, who was eldest son of D'Abcy Wentworth, Esq., of Aigreagh, same co., and Athlonc, co. Roscommon, a descendant of the ancient house of Wentworth, of Elmsall, co. York, which said John Gobe Sheilds nnd Francis Wann Sheilds assumed the prefix surname of Wentwobth by royal licence, dutcd at St. James', 27 Jan. 1877, in commemoration of their descent from and co-heirsliip of the family of Wentwobth
