Fimount, co. Tipperary; granted to Humphrey Brooke Firman, Esq., of Gateforth, co. York, eldest son of the late Humphrey Brooke Firman, Esq., of Brayton, same co., by Anne Louisa, his wife, dau. of Thomas Gibbon FitzGibbon, Esq., of Ballyseeda, co. Limerick, grandson of Lieut.-Col. Brooke Firman, and great-grandson of Thomas Peirson Firman, Esq., of Firmount, by Mary, his wife, dau. of Gabriel Brooke, Esq., of Gateforth, and sister of Humphrey Brooke, afterwards Osbaldeston, Esq., of Gateforth, upon the extinction of whose descendants, the descendants of his said sister, Mary Brooke, viz., the Firmans, of Firmount, became co-heirs of the Brooke family as well as of the Osbaldestons, of Hunmanby, co. York, descended from Sir Richard Osbaldeston, Attorney-General for Ireland, temp. Charles I.
