Westmeath, and the city of Dublin; descended from Edward Stanley, Esq., of Athtone, who d. 1763; bis grandson, Sir Edmund Stanley, Knt., Prime Serjeant of Ireland, and M.P. for Lanesborough, was Chief Justice of Madras, and d. 1843, leaving an only dau. and heir, Marian, m. James Bontem, Esq., who assumed the name of Stanley after her father's death. Arms confirmed, 1861, to Capt. Edward Stan-let, who fell before Sevastopol 1854, son of John Bacon .Stanley, Esq., of Dublin, who was grandson of Edward Stanley, Esq., of Low Park, the uncle of Sir Edmund Stanley
