Tottenham Green, co. Wexford, bart.; Sir John Tottenham, first bart., was so created 1780. He was eldest son of Chables Tottenham, Esq., M.P., of Tottenham Green, so well known as "Tottenham in his boots," in. Hon. Elizabeth Lottos, youngest sister and coheir of Hsnbt, last Earl of Ely, of the Lonus family; his son and successor, Sir Cbables, second bart., having e. by will to the Loftus estates, assumed the surname of Lorrus, was created Baron Loftus 1785, Viscount Loftus, of Ely, 1789, Earl of Bin 1794, and Marquess of Bly 1800. He d. 1806, leaving two sons: I. John, second Marauess of Ely, grandfather of John Henri, fourth and present Marquess of Bly; II. Lord Robert Tottenham, Bishop of Clogher, father of Lieut-Col. Cuables John Tottenuam, now of Tottenham Green, and of Woodstock, co. Wicklow
