Earl of Qrandison, extinct 1766; Sir Edward Villiers, second son of Sir George Villiers, Knt., of Brokesby, was knighted at Windsor, 7 Sept. 1616, ond appointed Lord President of Munster 1622. in 1620 he was created Viscount Qrandison, and d. 1626, leaving four sons: the youngest, Sir Edwabd, was father of the first Earl of Jersey: John, fifth Viscount Qrandison, was created Earl of Qrandison 1721, and left an only surviving dau., Lady Elizabeth Viluers, created Countas of Qrandison 1767; at his lordship's death the earldom expired, and the Viscounty of Qrandison reverted to William, third Earl of Jersey
