Thomas Watson, second surviving son of Edward, second Baron Rockingham, by the Lady Anne Wentworth, his wife, eldest dau. of Thomas, first Earl of Strafford, having s. to Wentworth-Woodhouse on the dealh of his uncle, William, second Earl of Strafford, assumed the additional surname of Wentworth ; his son, Thomas Watson-Wentwobth, Esq., of Wentworth-Woodhouse, was created Baron Malf.i 1728, and Earl of Malten 1734, and Marquess of Rockingham 1746; the second marquess d.s.p.
